mrnayed is a self-taught sonic artist whose form of expression touches on various topics, such as vulnerability, social constructs, sensuality, radical love, mental health, and liberation. He uses sound as a vessel to convey his forms of expression. His creative process is a form of play that explores and experiments with sonic elements as a means of his creative, emotional, and spiritual expression.
His creative journey began as a minimalist solo artist, crafting two projects, "July Vibrations EP" and "Origins," using only a smartphone and the Music Maker Jam app. His creative process is an exploration of sonic elements, a symphony of experimentation that mirrors the complexities of the human spirit.
Rapping, singing, poetry/songwriting, and sound design serve as mrnayed's tools of expression, each element blending seamlessly to create a unique sonic signature. His music draws inspiration from a diverse spectrum of genres, including Jazz, Classical, Hip hop, Soukous, Rhumba, Taarab, and the soulful melodies of Soul & RnB.
Venturing into the professional music realm, he released a single, "Move!," a rap anthem that celebrates conscious living, the power of choice, and the joy of embracing life's journey. His second single “ni mimi ” talks about energy transmutation, patience, hard work and reminding us about the blessings bestowed upon us when we begin to feel unworthy or jealous of other people’s success. As an expressionist, he values authenticity, stripping away pretence and embracing the raw, unfiltered essence of his emotions. His style is a testament to his intuition and unwavering spirit of experimentation. His self-produced projects are born out of an insatiable curiosity and an insatiable passion for musical expression.
mrnayed is an emotional alchemist, transforming raw emotion into sonic gold. His music is an invitation to embrace vulnerability, challenge societal norms, and explore the depths of one's being. He was part of the selected artists for the Santuri Spotlight sessions, November '23 edition, where he made his debut with a performance of his debut EP, ‘colored sonics Vol i’. This marked a new phase for mrnayed to explore his eccentricity through Live performances.
